recap of y'days unfortunate turn of events...
+ no email replies from apple since thursday
+ checked order status online
+ error in payments. process of order has been halted. to call 1800 MY - APPLE
+ called them up only to be adviced to check with bank
+ dbs declined the transaction as it was above the online transaction limit. was told to get apple's bank to request for a manual authorisation (MA) for the transaction.
+ called apple again only to be greeted by a nonsense dunnowhatsheisdoing officer. i said wat i needed to say n hung up.

today....
after class.. went to town with mudd to see him part with 119bucks. hahaha
lunched before i went off to meet tee. wah seh.. buy new phone never ask me along ... haiz
ok back to the hot story for today.
called dbs to check about the online transaction limit. checked if they can increase it for a one off transaction. they cant. but was told the same thing as yesterday. get apple's servicing back to request for a manual authorisation from dbs n EVERYTHING will be ok.
so i called back apple. the cust service officer gave me their 'payments' section number. i'm to call them myself and that they cannot patch the call true. oooook

payments officer: hi janet here (that liar's real name. assuming she's not lying again) how many i assist you?
me : hi i just need to check the status of my order now.
janet : can i get your web order number pls
*gives her my web order number*
janet : ok.. let me check with the bank and i'll call you back at this number.
me: ok
so me n tee walked ard...
many minutes later.. after we checked out phones at nokia care n browzed thru applecentre ( we were at wheelock)
*i got friends and you got friends... they hop out and you hop in.. i look fly and be jocking.. (my ringtone la)
me : hello
janet : hi. mr syafiq pls
me : yea speaking
janet : hi.. so i've checked with dbs.. blah blah blah.. the limit is only 2k actually.
me : !! what??
janet : blah blah blah 2k
*from 3.5 it dropped to 2k!?!?!
me : but thats not what DBS JUST told me a few minutes ago.
janet : no blah blah blah 2k only
ok i cant remember what else.. but i was just confused. dbs said one thing n apple is saying another.*
janet : perhaps you might want to change your mode of payment?
me : what are the options?
janet : you can either use other credit cards or cheque or cash.
me : cash?
janet : yes you can come down to our office at amk to make the payments.
me : oh i can just come down to sign?
janet : no no.. cheque or cash. we do not have the machine with us
me: .......
blah blah blah blah blah
me : i will check back with dbs and get back to you. at this number is it?
janet : yes
me : janet?
janet : yes
*hangs up the phone*
tee advised me to head down to posb instead considering we're pretty near one. and so we did.. walked over to the taka branch
so... again i checked about the maximum amt for online transaction and checked the procedures for payments above the limit. n told them my situation and what janet told me about what dbs said. so she got my ic, mastercard and asked which vendor am i liaising with.
minutes later..........
she came back to say that the limit is 3.5. for transactions above i jus gotta blah blah blah blah blah.. the very same thing i've heard upteen times now. she also assured me that she checked with the authorisation department n they themselves said that there should not be any problems at all. asked her to help me talk to janet for me. she called but janet but was put on hold for too long she hung up. so i called her myself later instead.
me: janet? syafiq here
janet: yes.
me: ok i've checked with the bank. like i said, you just need to get your bank to request for an MA from dbs (she should have know this by now considering she said she was checking with dbs before calling me back but i'm just reaffirming)
janet:oh ok i will try that out. but no guarantees it will work.
me: waddaya mean no guarantees?
janet: oh because i've tried that out before but it did not work.
me: you did? but dbs's records showed that no attempts for the request have been made yet.
janet: oh we did not do it on yours. it was on another customer 2 weeks back
*heh! twisting the story already huh*
me: dbs's authorisation side has already assured that there shouldnt be any problems
janet: ok i will try that out for you now n get back to you shortly.
half hour later...
*phone rings*
janet: mr syafiq pls
me: speaking
janet: hi so i still cannot make the transaction. it has been declined.
me: huh?!?!
janet: ya dbs said that the card number was invalid.
*INVALID?? now you twisting the story yet again. so it was ok just now.. n now its invalid is it? why invalid just now? coz how else can the transaction be rejected if there it was not the right card numbers in the first place. secondly, how could you have been able to check the limitations of the card if it was invalid. how exactly did you come up with the 2k limit when dbs themselves said it was 3.5k? managed to obtain such info with an invalid card number? but which is which? invalid card number or invalid 2k story. either one has to be invalid. exclusive or case. never to exist together*
janet: can i just check with you your card number? pls read it out to me
me: blah blah blah blah
*short pause*
janet: ok dbs asked me to advice you to call them up.
*another story?*
me: what for? i've already been doing that very thing since just now. checking and confirming with dbs wat can be done.
*besides.. if there was a problem.. dbs would have informed me already wat. i've only called them upteen times. also.. if it was an invalid card, why would dbs wanna talk to me for? so again, which is which?*
janet: blah blah blah
me: look... if this is going to be soo difficult, cancel my order
janet: sorry?
*i know she actually wanted to me repeat myself but i should have just said apology NOT accepted. hehe*
janet: cancel the order?
me: yes. cancel order
janet: ok. i will cancel your order now. thank you.
she hung up the phone
SHE HUNG UP THE PHONE!! BEFORE I DID.
i tot there was more things to be done but hey i tot wrong... all i heard was noise from coffeebean. n nothing from my phone.
frankly i was pretty surprised at how she din even try to pacify me. also surprised at myself for saying that. it just came out as it is. too fed up i guess. so now i'm powerbookless
anyways, i called dbs AGAIN. they got my name n such n they know which transaction i was refering to. yet they din say anything. (so much for janet telling me that dbs asked me to contact them coz it that was true, they would have said something then) blah blah blah.. i confirmed the method of payment with them again n asked if they can trace if any request for the MA for that transaction has been made. n guess what.. he said that thus far... no requests have been made. that was all i needed to hear...
my time, effort and money wasted (consider all the phonecalls)
n i still feel that this entire thingy should have been handled by apple without involving me at all. perhaps that was the reason why they din call in the first place? then why were they doing nothing?
