The one about Grandpa
Safiin had a ride of his life!
hhmm... driven a police van before but i got to ride in an ambulance just now! front seat somemore! ahaha.. so friggin exciting. with the driver zooming thru PIE on the first lane from Simei to SGH. the most fun part was when the car infront is going too slow for him (mind you he's driving at 110kmh), he'll switch on the siren. wohoo!! only time i got to be in a vehicle with the siren on is while i was having my conversion lessons. so much fun then.
anyways, why was i in an ambulance you ask? well.. my grandpa was in St Andrews Community hospital for therapy for his stroke. oh this is a looong story i tell you n its in one big loop. ok i shall go in chronological order..
grandpa underwent an op to remove 70% of his liver to remove the growth.
post op he suffered mild stroke.
stiches looks ok n was discharged from sgh
transfered to SACH to treat his stroke.
they gave him small dosage of aspirin for the stroke.
discovered blood in his stools. lab test confirmed it.
blood test shows low blood count.
scheduled immediate appt with his surgeon back in SGH
Surgeon thinks he has internal bleeding. couls be stomach ulcers caused by the aspirin.
din wanna do a scope for fearing his stroke will relapse.
decided to admit him in n transfuse blood n see how it goes.
get the neurologist to advice on the scope (possible or not) n his medication.
so that's why we;re back in SGH.
on the bright side thou, his liver's regenerating very well. based on the blood test. yet to do a scan thou the surgeon said that progress based on the report looks very good. might have totally regenerated already. alhamdulillah..
